Wow!! Friday night's show at the 'vark was fucking amazing!!! The guys opened with Chloroform and closed with Pistol. In between was madness that I do not fully recall, but it was blistering rock n' roll. The place was packed and the booze was flowing. This band brings in the hottest DFW girls ever by the by. In any event, the opening bands were great (loved Holy Moly) and Calhoun was amazing as always. What I remember of Flick is that they were all sweaty and rocked everyone's face off. OK so here's the gossip...If I remember right, Brandin said that this was the last show with Fletcher. He said something like, "Fletcher is leaving us, but we will continue on playing", so it sounds like one of our beloved artists will be no more. I want someone else to confirm this as I was 100% loaded, but I think I heard this right. Other than that...those who were in attendance were privy to an amazing rock show!! Here's to Flickerstick in '08!!!

Oh...here's a sketchy setlist by the way (in no particular order): Chloroform, Beautiful, Coke (Brandin came out into the crowd...awesome), Clocks, Contract Killers, Bleeding, Blue, Sorry, Smile, Black Metallic, Girls and Pills, and Pistol I think that was it, unfortunately no encore and no Direct Line. I think they had to cut it off bc it was close to 1:45am when they ended the set. And again, I hope I didn't misunderstand Brandin but it sounded like that's what he said about Fletcher...I will wait for official confirmation before I take it as gospel though. And if I'm wrong, I apologize in advance

From what I understood, Fletch isn't leaving for good but is gone for 3 months on some personal stuff he has to do. Unless plans have changes he will be back in the April timeframe.

We heard that and were sick about it. I was hoping we heard wrong. We thought they would make a much bigger deal out of it if he were actually leaving, like they did with Corey. Hoping the 3 month thing is correct. If he is out for 3 months will he play on the new album or will they wait until he returns. Answers would be great but I'm not holding my breath. lol Anyway, hope all is well and trying not to overreact.

Fletcher is only out for a period of time where he has a personal committment to take care of. Hence the reason my email attacks in the "Ari thread" really couldn't be answered, as it wasn't my place to speak to it. Sorry, but I'm glad Brandin mentioned it to some folks.

I guess that the others can do their parts during Fletcher's time out, and then he can add his bass when he returns--or maybe he recorded some already? This would probably also, along with the recording, explain why there will be no shows until at least spring. Anyhow, thanks to Ari, Norm, and other reliable sources for keeping us accurately informed.
Sounds like an awesome show; if they had to cut it off due to time constraints you know they were giving it their all. And of course you know it was a great show if you can't recall some madness...

Not a regular contributor here, but wanted to say that of all the guys in the band - and they're all great guys - Fletcher has always been the most accomodating to my wife and I. Hope all is well with him and that his hiatus is productive whatever it is for.
Also noted that the board says its Norms B-day. Enjoy Norm. We enjoyed meeting you and chatting it up in Columbus last year.

OMG...if Fletcher leaves I will be sick about it. He is my favorite. Has been since day one. I can't handle losing another original member. I don't mean anything negative to the ones that have stepped in and done a kick butt job but what is next...Brandin is gone? Some people just aren't replaceable. Let's hope that maybe our rock star is just doing a 3 month stint in rehab or something cool like that. )

From what I gather...you're taking it too far Yabo. The band is taking a break from touring and playing shows to work on a new album, and Fletcher...well, I don't know exactly any details, and quite don't care to know since it's his life, but I do know that he loves Flickerstick as much as we all do. I expect to see him in the future.

Exactly...you don't know the details...so that means you are left to guess...which is what I did. My guess is rock star rehab. You may think he is just taking a 3 month Tahiti vacation...that is your guess. To each it's own. Either way...as long as he comes back...I'll be happy! Because I don't want my favorite band breaking up because that might mean this board went away and then you sensitive fans wouldn't have me to tick you off if I say something you don't like. Welcome to 2008!

I guess I'm just an optimist or idealist and would rather hope that it's for something besides rehab.
Although, I guess rehab isn't bad. I'd rather have somebody go to rehab than watch them fade into nothing.

I agree. Look at poor old Britney. If she would have just went to rehab and not married that nasty K-Fed...she might still be hot and famous for something other than crotch shots.

Welcome to 2008! I assure you that its not rehab. Without delving into personal stuff just look at it as Fletcher has a child and a family and that takes priority sometimes. He will be back in the late spring and will most def. be around for the recording this summer. I only say this because I don't want rampant rumors circulating. There is nothing wrong and he will be back.
