Please, please guys... this isn't the time to be quiet and tired. Me and the guys need your help so badly with only two weeks until the record comes out. It's time to chatter and get things shaking please. Here is an email that I just sent to the Flickerstick Street Team email (if you haven't signed up, please read down a few threads to Crystal's posting about joining up!).
Hi Guys - Many of you have been emailing me with great things that you're doing to promote the album in your town or on the internet, thank you!!! I know that along with Crystal and the band, we love how much you guys are individually doing to make this record happen! So, here are a few things we can do with exactly 2 weeks left until the album hits stores:
CALL YOUR LOCAL STORE!
Stores buy records based on demand. So, just like requesting a song on the radio to be played, the stores listen to people if they know they are going to buy a CD there. Just call the store and ask if they plan to stock "Live From Atlanta" by Flickerstick. If they don't see it or know anything, tell them that you are a big fan and it comes out in 2 weeks, and wanted to find a place in town where you can get it. Ask them if they will think about ordering it, or you need to call more stores. And then, call the other stores anyway to request it again. Ha ha.
CALL YOUR LOCAL RADIO STATION!
We just started (yesterday) shipping out "Helicopter" to the radio stations. It will probably be next week before they get listening to it, but the packages are going. We, of course, didn't mail it to every station in the country. So, there is a chance that your station didn't get it, but you should always try. Sometimes, as many of you have found out, the station tells you to see if you can get it sent to them. Feesh, Sarah, and many others have been talking to their local station (college and commercial). Of course, if you have the station info, we are happy to mail it out to them. We also hired a professional radio promoter that is helping to get us airplay in as many markets as possible, but you guys calling the stations is so important.
POST INFO ON BLOGS, SITES, BOARDS!
Right now, it's all about a "buzz" for the new album. If there's a place you can post about it, please do it. Get your friends to help and make it a nightly thing to hit 20-30 boards or blogs. The more people that hear about this, the more records we'll sell. We need to get to about 800-1000 in our first week to try to get on the indie charts, and so buying the record the first week is key. Hence, we really need you guys to help by posting anywhere and everyone about the album and about upcoming tour dates.
GET OUT TO THE SHOWS!
I can't stress enough how important this tour is for the guys. Brandin calls me every other day to ask me how things are looking for the shows. Can you remember the last time they played 28 shows in 35 days? This tour is a monster, and hits many of our biggest markets. We really need you guys to spread the word to friends everyone and anywhere to get there. But, we need YOU to get down there also. It's not always convenient to have to drive an hour or get a ride with friends, but this is the time to do it. We need you guys to get out there and be ready to rock at the shows. Please do anything you can to spread the word about this tour!
This Street Team email has been WAY too quiet for being 2 weeks before the release (ha ha). It's now time to start discussing ideas, promotions that you're doing and so forth. Please start to do whatever you can to help out. Thanks for everyone's efforts.
Thanks! ARI
