the new "Live From Atlanta" album will hit stores. That gives us 4 full weeks to do whatever marketing, promotion, internet blogging, message board posting, and so on that we can do.
POSTERS: My office just shipped out a bunch of posters to everyone that is on the street team list, and is located close to one of the upcoming tour markets. If you need posters to hang up or can help out, please let me know (but also copy in Crystal so she can keep track of things for street team purposes). My email is ari@degy.com and Crystal's is cryschick@aol.com.
RADIO: We really need to start ringing up the radio stations in about 2 weeks, to request "HELICOPTER" to be played. Our hopes are to get a radio report from our promoter about a week before the record releases, and that will give us all of the call numbers for markets that are considering the track for airplay.
TOUR: We need to spread the word about the tour, buying up tickets in advance so the promoters stay heavy on marketing our shows. Please use myspace, facebook, blogs, other band pages, bulletin boards, and so forth to post info about this tour and the new album release. Please send bulletins to your friends and ask them to send the email chain along. The more the buzz gets out, the better we'll sell those tickets to each date. If you can help out to sell merch at the shows, Derrick still needs people to sign up for each evening. His email is flickersticktourmanager@yahoo.com to sign up now.
STORE CHECKS: I really could use everyone's help on the week of April 3, and for a few weeks thereafter. I'm sure that many of you are going to hit the stores to buy the album. With that said, I just need for you to check and see how many copies are there. Email me your stock checks (as they are called). Just the name of the store and the city/state, and then how many copies they have on the shelves when you get there. If you go to a store that doesn't have it, of course ask the store to get it please since you want to buy it, and then let me know which store doesn't have it so I can mark it down.
What else? Let's get some ideas flowing, everyone.... This is the time when we all need to step up and work together to help out the guys!!!

thanks Ari. i have a question though. the last time we tried requesting the last FS single it was like pulling teeth with certain radio stations. is there a certain way we should ask the DJ's or should we just do what we normally do.....threaten them with bodily harm.....lol j/k

Ha. Threats might help, but I'm not paying for your bail bonds. This time, we have hired a radio promoter, so it will be a little easier then the past album where it was very lightly shipped to radio, and we didn't have a professional radio promoter working on it. Our guy is awesome, and he will be advising us of markets where we need to do calls and calls.

A promoter would help out a lot. TDF got on 98Rock in baltimore -- like twice? Competing against another band in some sort of showdown.
long story short -- screw you Shadows Fall.

ari, is there a formal press release for the tour and album we can distribute? would be mostly web outlets, but just to get the word out. also noticed pollstar.com has only one date listed for the band.

The Tarantula album was actually heavily serviced to radio including the rock and modern rock formats with about 300 stations serviced. 2 seperate radio promotion companies worked the album and the singles "Teenage Dope Fiend" and "Bleeding" including Notorious Promotion in New York and SWAN Promotion which was the company of choice from the band and Troy their previous manager. Several thousand dollars were spent on radio promotion by Idol, the "TDF" single charted #7 on the National FMQB SubModern Rock singles chart and #10 on the FMQB Album Chart. We had a good run at radio with the Tarantula album, and were added at a few high profile stations, although there were also many stations that heavily resisted the album primarily due to the stigma of being a "reality show band".

....primarily due to the stigma of being a "reality show band". Gah. Damn the stigma, and some how Daughtry and his band are huge.

It makes me sad.....Daughtry is on the raido and Flickerstick is not. Sometimes I cry at night just thinking about it.

reality show character's "stigmas," HUH? don't get the wrestlingfan started. Daughtrey needs to give the Kroeger bros their Nickel Back! many of us have never heard of Andrea Lowell (who's only in her early 20's) if it weren't for VH1 Surreal Life or Tiffany Pollard and all of her zany castmates if it weren't for Flavor of Love! and if it weren't for VH1 what's Hulk Hogan, Joanie Laurer, Andrew Diceman Clay, Flavor Flaver, Dan Bonaduce, Chris Knight and Adrienne Curry would be do with their lives anymore! and Reality TV also gave us another Richard Hatch, another Erick Estrada (the second Erick starred in Making the band), another Richard Rubin (referred to Rick Rubin music producer) and another Charlie O'Connell (a clever character name, who'd would have thought about a legendary Roller Derby star from the middle of the last century) AND then there's Idol Jennifer Hudson won the Oscar in the wonderful movie "Dreamgirls" and music award winners Carrey Underwood (that was funny when she p'd off Faith Hill!) and Kelly Clarkson. Keep the eye out for Mellody Doolittle, she's amazing!

In all honesty. VH1 had it right with BOTR. And got it so so so wrong with CelebReality.
