Hello fellow fans, long time no speak.
Has anyone heard of the lawsuit that Joe Satriani has filed against Coldplay? Apparently, Satriani feels that his song "If I Could Fly" was plagiarized by Coldplay in their song "Viva La Vida".
I've listened to both of the tracks in comparison...and while I can't say that Ole' Joe has any kind of lawsuit on his hands (IMO), I do feel that Flickerstick could file a suit against him for ripping off "When You Were Young".
Satriani recorded and released "If I Could Fly" in 2005, a solid year after Flickerstick released "When You Were Young". 2005 also yielded the obnoxious Killers tune of the same title....but I won't go there.
Seriously though, hop on Youtube and look the Satriani tune up. Then, pop in Tarantula and compare for yourself.
I'ts absolute rubbish if you ask me.

There is a few videos on youtube that show the coldplay rip off, also how the song was also ripped off a band from new york called the "creaky boards" (I think)
I like their version better either way
Cold play sucks assholes
