Well, Well its late and i'm tired but figured i could do this real quick before going to bed.
Amazing. Absolutely Amazing. Emotional, it had everything. More on that in a moment. I managed to get a set list:
Catholic Scars Teenage Dope Fiend Got a Feeling You & I Smile Lift When You Were Young Coke Helicopter Bleeding Clocks Blue Sorry Pistol Beautiful All We are Is Gone Direct Line Execution
The Tourist and Girls and Pills were in there somewhere too, i think after Coke.
I love Holy Moly. Just throwing that out there. Stella Rose and Calhoun were also very good.
I figured this is my last show since i can't make it to the Ft. Worth gigs. So it was quite sad/happy/whatever else for me.
We had no Fletcher tonight, which was a suprise to me. He's currently with the National Guard in Iraq I believe. I can't remember the guy's name who filled in but he did a wonderful job.
Glad to hear Lift, it was amazingly rockin'.
Execution was quite emotional. Brandin and a violin player. Wonderful, and so very chilling in a way. As was Direct Line (Considering i owe my love of music to that song) It hit me pretty hard at the end there.
Just overall an amazing show to go out on, if it is the last as Brandin said maybe.
And a new DVD was on sale!

NEW DVD?!?!?! And how do we mere mortals get a hold of one? Also, it sounds like it would have been amazing to be there. Too bad I couldn't.

More details.. more details...
How was Brandin's voice? Sounds like the best set-list ever but pretty exhausting to perform..
Who bought the DVD???

I have to say my one of my favorite things about last night was that "Beautiful" didn't get the loudest cheer when it was started up. Only took a decade, but good job Dallas!

I'll upload a link to pics/videos from both Friday and Saturday. The sound quality on the videos i took on Friday really suck since Lola's is a really small venue and I was right up front. Saturday's are better because I was backstage and my camera didn't pick up as much of the bass (which is good).
It was a super emotional show, especially toward the end. I had the pleasure of being backstage with my friends and the bands and it was just a giant hug fest while Brandin was playing Execution. Doug's violin playing was absolutely phenomenal and there were a few tears shed. I had an amazing time and the guys absolutely KILLED it. I can't believe I'm actually awake right now since it was such a long, fun, emotional, kick ass day; looking forward to the Aardvark shows.
BTW: The bassist covering for Fletcher is Aiden (or Aaden sp?) and he is SUCH an amazing guy and an equally good bass player. He learned all of Flickerstick's songs in 2 weeks!

Both gigs were epic in their own right. I am soooo glad I went to Lola's. It was sweaty, tiny bar atmosphere and they played it hard. But onto the main event...HOB show was unreal. My friends and I just can't imagine how it must feel for them to have so much support and yet not be able to continue on. I will miss this band so much. The crowd was great and big but by no means a sell out. It looked like everyone there was having a blast. If I could have a moment in time back it might be Doug and Brandin on stage at the end. It really was eerie and a tearjerker moment for anyone who had followed the band...my favorite moment was during Execution when Brandin sang the line "bring my brother home" during the "sha na na na" part of the song. I welled up. I will be at the aardvark gigs but this was a legendary night. Oh!!! And Brandin crowd surfed at one point during the show

I think there are 1 or 2 songs missing. Didn't they do Fade Into You? I thought Brandon said they extended it to a 21 song set. Anyway, I flew down from NY just to see the show Saturday. Definitely worth it for the 3+ hour set. Got there when the doors opened at 6 and there was hardly anyone there for quite some time but then everyone finally started rolling in. Was lucky enough to get front row (I'm slowly gaining my hearing back). Best concert I've ever been to. I don't really have any good pics/video to post because I didn't want to risk having to take it back out to the car if they wouldn't let me bring my camera in, and then lose out on having a good viewing spot. Although now I know I could've brought the camera in, but oh well I guess. Been a fan for a while but never had a chance to see them. This was my last chance so that's why I had no choice but to spend $700 on plane tickets for me and my gf. But like I said, well worth it.

There was no fade into you, but i was looking at it late last night, so something else might have slipped in there.
I really hope someone got an audio or a video of execution. It is just one of those moments. Probably my favorite thing i've ever seen at a concert. The bring my brother home was very touching, and also the line "One more time." Brandin just put his hand in the air and said it.
The DVD is pretty cool, its got live footage from a few shows put together of all the new songs from Live from Atlanta, Smile, Sorry, and Direct Line. There may be more, I don't have it in front of me. Theres also a bonus feature which has just fun footage, some interviews, and a couple of acoustic performances (Mostly halves of songs, but does have a whole Clocks acoustic which was very good)

The bassist is actually Miranda Lambert's touring bassist, Aden. He is awesome and did a phenomenal job, but it was not the same without Fletcher. It was very intense and emotional - I'm glad I made the shows this past weekend, and am planning on being at both next month! CDL

More details.. more details... How was Brandin's voice? Sounds like the best set-list ever but pretty exhausting to perform.. Who bought the DVD??? And maybe it was because I had a balcony view/seat right by the speakers whereas I'm normally right in front of the stage - but Brandin's voice was the best I've heard it in eight years!!! CDL

CDL The million dollar sound system @ HOB probably didn't hurt but yes, his voice sounded amazing, regardless.

Thanks to everyone who is sharing their photos and memories of this show. Ohhhhhhhh, how I wish I could have been there. Thank YOU again. Brandin looks great! I am so sad to hear that Fletcher in Iraq. I just adore him and hope he gets home soon and safe. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Love to all the guys. Peace "You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one."
