I've only been here for less than 24 hours and have eaten some great food already. Went to Railhead BBQ yesterday for lunch, and the ribs just melted off the bone, and their chopped beef sandwich was inredible. Last night we went downtown and ate at Razzoo's, a Cajun eatery, and I ate so much (crawfish etoufee, shrimp creole, and cajun rice and beans). It was nice and spicy, so if you can't hack some heat, I wouldn't go there, but I definitely recommend both places to those adventurous eaters out there.

We went to the H3 Ranch in the Stockyards and it was fantastic as well. I loved Texas!

Some other places that my cousin took me to:
Mama's Pizza (just up Berry St. from the Aardvark) Fuzzy's Taco's (I actually went BEFORE the show on Saturday...had I known that was the spot for afterwards, I surely would have stuck around) Kincaid's (i think that's how you spell it) for a bacon cheeseburger and fried okra and whatever that Pancake place is on University...yumm country fried chicken in white pepper gravy!!!

Old South might be the pancake place? That's right in front of the Fairfield Marriott where I stayed. I went to Fuzzy's before the Friday show; I didn't know it was the spot for afterwards Saturday either, as the Aardvark staff seemed eager to clear out everyone ASAP, to the point of grabbing a bottle right out of my hand. I've also been to Cattlemen's Steak House in the Stockyards (a splurge but worth it) and when in Texas I mostly live off Whataburger, about which Brandin gave a shout-out during one of the shows.
